We look forward to you floating with us! Don't hesitate to call if you have any questions or concerns.
907-56FLOAT.
Get ready for an amazing experience!
Shaving. Think "salt in the wound." It can hurt. We do provide ointment for any minor cuts, scratches, and nicks.
Caffeine. We all love it, but it is a known stimulant. We want you to experience the best float possible, so try to avoid it if you can.
A Heavy meal. Is a lot to digest! A light meal is perfectly acceptable.
Hair dyes. Please wait to float until your hair dye no longer bleeds onto a white towel. That can vary depending on the color, 24-48 hrs min. Or book prior to your next color.
We provide just about everything you need for a great float: ear plugs, ointment for minor cuts/scratches, hair tie, makeup remover wipe, towels, shampoo, body wash, conditioner, and spa/shower slippers. If you have specific hair products feel free to bring them. Comfy loose clothing post-float is very helpful but not necessary. If you wear contacts bring a case!
Oh, aren't you lucky! Upon arrival we will make sure you have completed the waivers, offer you spa/shower slippers, give you an opportunity to use the restroom prior to your float, then take you back to your private room. Your float facilitator will show you the features of the room, how the float pool functions, and of course review all safety procedures. Now all you have to do is enjoy your float!
You've heard it before.....all good things must come to an end. At the end of your float the lights will either flicker if left on during the float, or they will gently come back on if you turned them off. Either way that indicates the end of your float. Carefully exit the pool, shower and dress. Leave your towel, we'll clean up. Feel free to hydrate in the lobby, dry your hair with our Dyson dryer, and be on your merry way...enjoy your rediscovered calm! Don't forget to book your next float!
Floaters Asking Questions
No. Our pools each have over 1000 pounds of Epsom salts so you are fully supported. No backstroke necessary! Even if you fall asleep you won't drown.
No. Again, our pools each have over 1000 pounds of Epsom salts so you are fully supported.
Floating is great for pregnancy discomfort! If you are pregnant we ask that you consult your medical provider first. We offer Nekdoodle pool noodles to assist you with positioning. We have an open pool that is perfect for our pregnant clients with its ease of entry/exit.
We have a completely open pool in a room that is ADA compliant and is perfect for those with mobility or disability issues. If you need assistance getting into a float pool we ask that you bring someone with you to assist. We have a transfer bench as well and the pools are all only 11 inches deep with water. Any specific medical conditions should be cleared by your medical provider prior to floating.
Our enclosed pools are 8ft round and with an 8ft canopy....they are HUGE! But we understand some folks may be intimidated even with our enclosed pools so we do offer our open pool which is without an enclosure and the entire room is heated to the same temperature/humidity as the enclosed pools.
Of course! In the very connected world we live in many of us have to "wean" off of sensory input. So we offer relaxing music if desired, and the pool light is manual....you can leave it on the entire time if you wish. The more you float the easier it gets to fully appreciate the lack of sensory input. Think of it as "sensory enhancement."
No. We encourage folks to go without. You are in a private room and our pools are sanitized thoroughly between floaters and around the clock. The choice is yours, but wearing one just provides sensory input you are trying to avoid.
As always we encourage our clients to discuss their medical concerns with their medical provider prior to floating. We do offer Halo headrests to support the head and neck, and Nekdoodle pool noodles for any additional support needed as well. Some of our clients will use a pool noodle under their knees. Our open pool is easier to enter/exit.
Clicking on the "BOOK NOW" button will take you directly to our online schedule. You can call the center as well at 907-56FLOAT.
We offer a special rate for first time floaters because we realize there is a bit of a learning curve. Subsequent floats, knowing how the process works and what to expect, are often even much better than the first! We handle the first float discount in the center.
The water in our pristine pools is UV sanitized multiple times after each floater and throughout the day and night. We keep our pH and alkalinity consistent as well. All pool surfaces are cleaned with 35% hydrogen peroxide.
All touch surfaces are cleaned after each floater using either hydrogen peroxide or PureGreen24, an EPA-registered cruelty-free disinfectant. It is FDA-approved to kill COVID-19 in only 30 seconds.
All of our personal care products and cleaning products are unscented. We encourage our clients to leave heavily fragranced products at home.
That depends on the cause and severity of your sea sickness. If it's due to dehydration that is easily corrected. We encourage you to hydrate well hours prior to your float and of course after. If it is a vestibular issue we suggest floating with the lights on for at least your first float. If your sea sickness is severe some have used wrist bands while floating otherwise we encourage you to speak to your medical provider.
During COVID we were pretty lenient with cancellations. Now we have a policy requiring 24 hours notice for all cancellations, float or NovoTHOR. If it is an emergency please contact us. Otherwise a short notice cancellation will result in a $25 charge and a no-show will result in a full charge or forfeit of the session. If you are unwell for any reason it is best to cancel 24 hours before. We will look forward to seeing you again when you are well!
If possible it is best to wear or bring loose comfy clothing as our rooms are warmer and more humid than the outdoors and it can make dressing more of a challenge with snug clothing.
The only thing scary about floating is not ever experiencing it.
